BRIT School alum, EVALINA, has carved a unique journey in her career to date. Since her debut release in June 2022 has amassed over 33 million streams and performing at industry heavyweight events including The Great Escape and Amsterdam Dance Event, all whilst featuring on BBC Introducing South’s Record Of The Day. But if you ask EVALINA – and judging by the drop of her latest track, “Rough Patch” – she’ll tell you she’s “only just scratched the surface”.

Co-written and produced by Hannah Koppenburg (Eurythmics) and Maxwell Cooke (Ellie Goulding), the track is a masterfully blended track that plays well into EVALINA’s signature playful, tongue-in-cheek style.

Inspired by the noughties classic, ‘She’s The Man’, EVALINA explains the inspiration behind the track,”it’s written from the perspective of Sebastian’s delusional ex-girlfriend Monique, who refuses to accept that her relationship is over & convinces herself that they’re only going through a rough patch. Of course, all her friends know she’s in denial & who I imagine would try to comfort her with Ben & Jerry’s, but in my version, instead, she puts a coin in the jar which symbolises the never-ending cycle of breaking up & getting back together”.
