January is officially the most award-packed month of the year — but between red carpets, celebrity fittings, and press junkets, Hollywood pauses to watch the announcement of the actors, directors, and productions that will make it to the pinnacle of recognition, the 96th edition of the Oscars. The 2024 ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 10, at 4 p.m. PT at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel for his second consecutive year.
Not surprisingly, the duo-of-the-year, box-office history-making Barbie and Oppenheimer, scored a handful of nominations, sharing spots as top contenders for Best Picture, Best Supporting Roles, and Best Adapted Screenplay. Also, a record-breaker, Martin Scorsese secures his 10th nomination in the Best Director category at this year’s Academy Awards, making him the first to reach such a number.
