TOM SPEIGHT – LOVE & LIGHT

The London-based singer-songwriter unveils his latest album, a sprawling and heartfelt character study.

The journey of Tom Speight is a twisting and inspiring story. He battles Crohn’s disease, living with a stoma and wrote his debut album in hospital. A succinct writer with great emotional intelligence, Speight continues to push himself and his artistry, a characteristic that has come to a head with this new LP, Love & Light.

Across the 12 powerful tracks, Speight combines folk and pop-leaning sounds, provoking in his instrumental choices. Lyrically, the writer shows a growing maturity to his penmanship, boasting anthemic hits like “Let Go” and “The One”. Comfortable in his sonic pocket, the album sees Speight further consolidate his acclaim and leaves him poised for further fruitful success.

Speaking on the new album and its lead single “Let Go”, Tom comments, “I’ve touched on things in this record that I’ve never spoken about before; it’s, without doubt, my most personal to date. ‘Let Go’ is like the follow-up phone call to my previous single ‘The One’, it follows the thread of getting over someone… it deals with the angst & heartbreak.”

A solid and heartfelt collection of tracks, Speight has the undeniable knack for folk-leaning pop goodness.
