Born into a musically-inclined family, music has always been at the forefront of Raina Sokolov-Gonzalez’s existence. Merging the generic characteristics of jazz and R&B into a seamless and sultry style that burst with vitality and vigour, the Brooklyn artist has created a sonic universe that only she inhabits, delving into emotive, vulnerable songwriting and delivering stunning vocal performances.

Following “Who Is She” and “Like I See You”, Sokolov-Gonzalez has now shared her third single of the year. Entitled “The Healing”, the newest offering is produced by her brother Jake, and is mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Jon Rosenberg. A delightful and delicate number, “The Healing” showcases the genre-bending brilliance of Sokolov-Gonzalez, infusing Gospel elements into a jazzy palette. The song builds an engrossing and potent lyrical narrative, which sees the topic of gender roles and relationships at the forefront of the writer’s mind.

Full of musical intricacy and characterful intimacy, the single is delicate and gently groove-laden, full of rich atmosphere and cohesive creativity.
