New Jersey’s PYNKIE has quite the array of talents. She is a registered nurse who also just so happens to be one of the brightest emerging bedroom pop acts in the States. Stumbling into a music career, she has so far released two superb albums – ’18’s neoteny and ’20’s #37 – picking up plenty of industry and public admires along the way. Pitched somewhere between hazy bedroom pop and anthemic indie, the rising songstress is showcasing a maturing sound that oozes potential, and with her latest offering, we are seeing this potential actualise itself increasingly.

The newest single is a vivid and thoughtful depiction of a romantic relationship; relatable and visceral, PYNKIE’s performance draws each emotional crevice from her songwriting, flaunting her resonance and characterful approach to narration. The instrumental backdrop is purposeful and poignant, with atmospheric textures and upbeat percussion accompanying ear worm harmonies and acoustic guitar. The vibrant visuals marry perfectly with the tone and timbre of the track, as PYNKIE illustrates her visual creativity.

It’s about hoping and believing that a relationship will ultimately work out through the rollercoaster of ups and downs The fast tempo and high energy instrumentation of the song are coupled with soft drawn-out vocal melodies, creating a combined feeling of chaos and composure. Those mixed feelings mirror the relationship at the centree of the song’s theme.”
