With roots in both Taiwan and California, impressive singer-songwriter jocelvn uses a cultural and musical dexterity to concoct a sound that is colourful and explorative. Appearing in our ears back in 2020 with her gorgeous debut EP, “Carry On”, the singer-songwriter has gone from strength to strength, opening for acts like Lucky Daye and Mereba. Influenced by the likes of Kehlani and Syd, jocelvn’s sound is a sultry, slick R&B and soul infused amalgamation that is enchanting and engrossing.

It’s been a busy year so far for jocelvn with a smattering of single releases being unveiled such as “make it right” and “terms”. She has now returned for her latest in a growing list of silky cuts, offering up a kaleidoscopic and atmospheric new single “delusional”. Delicate synths and purposeful bass and percussion act as a dreamy backdrop for the singer to deliver a soaring vocal performance, building into a catchy and slyly anthemic hook. Lyrically, jocelvn flaunts her thought-provoking writing and raw honesty, exploring a narrative of simultaneously misunderstanding and being misunderstood.

Speaking on the single, the artist adds, “Writing this song felt especially cathartic, because I was writing about someone I felt like I couldn’t reach through conversation. Some of the things they said to me were so bizarre and manipulative that I genuinely felt that the only explanation was that they had to be delusional if they thought they were being true.”
