Founded in 1884, leading Swiss watch company Breitling has been at the forefront of innovation for almost 140 years now. From their early origins developing the modern chronograph and navigational tool watch to their more recent strides towards making the industry a more inclusive and sustainable space, they have continuously proven to be pioneers in watchmaking. Their newest collaborative pieces with Australian motorcycle and surf outfitter Deus Ex Machina and British heritage motorcycle manufacturer Triumph Motorcycles serve as an extension of existing relationships and represent an even further innovation for the watch company. Following two sold-out limited editions, Breitling and Deus Ex Machina have created a third, black monochrome version — offering a new look to the successful style. Similarly, the collaboration with Triumph follows an initial release of a Breitling Speed Twin Limited Edition bike and a duo of Top Time Triumph watches for bike owners and fans. Incorporating the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, which was designed from the ground up, both new pieces are the epitome of precise, high-end mechanical watches. Breitling CEO Georges Kern explains, “These co-branded Top Time watches are for those who are as into the mechanics of their watch as they are the mechanics of their motorcycle. The Breitling Caliber 01 is a finely tuned engine, created with all the precision and attention to detail that goes into building the perfect bike.”
Launched at the Wheels & Waves surf-and-motorcycle festival in Biarritz, France, they fit into the Top Time range and represent Breitling’s spirit of adventure. “Stay tuned for future developments from the Breitling Chronometrie,” teases Kern. “Because this is just the beginning.”
