 LOUIS VUITTON × SOTHEBY’S

The industry titans are joining forces to raise money for charity with an auction of the exceptional one-off bags.

Two of the most renowned names in the industry, Louis Vuitton and Sotheby’s, collaborate with an auction dedicated to charity, featuring 22 unique artist-designed Louis Vuitton Artycapucines bags.

With Sotheby’s being the pinnacle destination for art and luxury and Louis Vuitton’s iconic legacy within fashion, this pairing is written in the stars.

From 28th June to 12th July, the public will be able to tune in to the Artycapucines auction and bid for the chance to own one of the 22 unique artist designed bags. Each piece has been stunningly remade, signed and presented in a Monogram-covered Louis Vuitton Boîte Chapeau.

This specific make of bag is a modern hat box based upon a design first launched by the Maison in 1924. Each of these unique boxes will be “signed” by the relevant artist, with these customisations ranging from a simple signature to more elaborate artwork, adding monumental uniqueness and meaning to the pieces.

The artists involved in this incredible joining include, Amélie Bertrand, Daniel Buren, Sam Falls and many other profoundly talented experts.

Louis Vuitton will donate its net proceeds of the sale of each one of these unique Artycapucines to a specific charity or NGO of the artist’s choice, including UNICEF and NGO’s working in poverty reduction, disaster relief, education, and refugee rights.

The Louis Vuitton and Sotheby’s Artycapucines auction will be open for online bidding between 28th June – 12th July 2023 at www.sothebys.com.

The 22 bags will be on show to the public at Sotheby’s Paris, 76 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, 75008 Paris, from 1-5 July 2023.
