We’ve been hearing lots about the burgeoning Toronto music scene, and with Tim North the city has another star in their ranks. The rising rapper has made his name as a songwriter, working with many artists in the industry. The MC has been impressing listeners with his flow and distinct sound since his emergence in the mid 2010s. Last year, North released Early Wishes, a solid body of work that has elevated his status in the industry to new-found heights.
Following April’s comeback single “Need The Drugs”, North has now returned for his second single of the year. “Idle Hands” is a summer ready anthem, with the upbeat, vibrant instrumental consisting of synths, bass and drums, proving to be a perfect backdrop for North to perform over. The rapper switches between slick bars and a sung hook, showcasing his vocal versatility. The track dives into the relatable topic of FOMO (fear of missing out), highlighting how easy it is to get dragged into the feeling with social media showing us how much we are constantly missing out on.
With a discography that showcases his budding talent, Tim North looks set to continue to gain plaudits throughout the rest of the year and beyond.
