A founding member of the Elevation Meditation collective, which boasts Lord Apex, Finn Foxell and p-rallel as fellow sonic comrades, Culture’s contributions to the UK alternative rap scene speak for themselves. Building a discography that is forward thinking and thoughtful in its musicality and personal and pensive in its lyricism, last year’s When Life Presents Obstacle is a artistically substantial body of work that highlights the MC’s budding craft and genre-bending vision.

Louis Culture returned recently with his London love letter, “CITY”, a garage-infused subtle anthem that further showcased the progressive artistry of the rapper. Culture glides across the bouncy, effervescent instrumental, with his undeniable hook and jumpy flow merging with the glitchy synths and choppy drums.

We are blessed to be premiering the accompanying visuals for “CITY”. Directed by SCRAP METAL, the characterful video feels sentimental and homely, leaning into a lo-fi aesthetic that follows Louis on tour. It’s poignant in its portrayal of human encounters, and represents the fast pace London lifestyle and is a unique glimpse into Culture’s life on tour.
