Rising collective The Free Label have been whipping up a storm across the industry. They formed back in 2017 in Toronto, with their shared love of 80s disco and 90s R&B at the epicentre of their artistic direction. From their origins in playing in house parties and late night bars, the band have risen to new heights in recent times, and will be touring across North America, Europe and South Asia this year.

We have been blessed with the news that the band will be releasing their debut album next year. The forthcoming project promises to be a slick and striking dive into the band’s musicality and vision, but for now we have been welcomed into this new chapter of artistry with this first offering, “Shine”. Enlisting the highly talented Braxton Cook, who has produced for Taylor Swift and played saxophone on Mac Miller and Christian Scott projects, this new single that sees the band portray the pinnacle of their instrumental ability. A casually well crafted track that aims to embrace uniqueness and individuality, there’s a positive message flowing through the feel good tune.

With this first impressive offering, we eagerly awaited more details of the band’s anticipated LP.
