We are thrilled to premiere the Berlin-based artist Creams’ new documentary. The video is part of AWAL’s SPACES series, a collection that highlights how artists’ environments impact their creative processes. Born in Tbilisi, Creams is at the forefront of a thriving youth culture developing their own creative scene within a politically charged climate. The documentary takes us inside her studio as she speaks about her relationship with music growing up and her writing process today.

With the success of recent singles “Need to Talk” and “Almighty”, Creams — also known as Natia Chichinadze — is continuing to prove herself to be in the vanguard of today’s alt-pop. Influenced by myths and dreams, 14th century literature, and musicians such as Joni Mitchell and FKA Twigs, she weaves these eclectic inspirations in nuanced and innovative ways. Working across every aspect of her sound, from songwriting to producing to creating music videos, she creates music that is all her own.
