LITTLE FUSS – “HYPOTHETICAL GIRL”

The Boston-based band release their latest single, furthering their reputation within the realms of the indie art-pop scene.

New to the music scene, Boston-based band Little Fuss release their latest single “Hypothetical Girl” with the hopes of furthering their reputation within the realms of the indie art-pop scene.

Following the success of their debut album in January 2023, their latest single – which is the first offering from their upcoming EP set for a spring release, embodies frustration with sarcasm. Pushing the boundaries of irony and resistance through energetic pop-rock performances, it comes as no surprise that their debut has gained attraction from tastemakers.

Hoping to build on this success, “Hypothetical Girl” gives us a fiery, punchy display of resistance and femininity. The lyrics portray ironic and fierce tones as Little Fuss calls out the presumptuousness of simplistic, reductive categories and societal stereotypes. The track challenges the male gaze, reclaiming power for women of today by challenging traditionalistic categories and stereotypes.

Like “A Modern Olympia” from their previous LP, “Hypothetical Girl” is a plea for liberation. Little Fuss emphasise the importance of women having the freedom to be their own authentic and multi-layered individuality in a suppressed society; bursting the bubble of two dimensional stock characters.

Little Fuss write songs loud enough to be heard, and no doubt “Hypothetical Girl” will do just that.
