JIMMY CHOO’S SUSTAINABLE FASHION MA PROGRAMME

JCA’s new programme encourages a fresh wave of innovative, eco-conscious fashion designers.

JCA | London Fashion Academy was founded by Professor Jimmy Choo OBE and Mr. Stephen Smith in September 2021. A pioneering institution not only offering fashion education, but also co-working space for fashion start-ups, galleries, and networking events. Its aim is to present fresh talent to London’s fashion industry and their newest venture meaningfully continues this mission.

JCA | London Fashion Academy has announced a new sustainability-focused MA course with international partnerships and a strong goal. The programme, MA Fashion Entrepreneurship in Design and Brand Innovation, seeks to find, nurture, and launch the next wave of sustainable fashion design talent. A partnership with Lone Design Club, RCGD Global, and Graduate Fashion Foundation, the course is scholarship-supported. It offers government funding for UK applicants, global scholarships, and sustainable resources to its students in an effort to reduce the barrier to entry and promote the very best talent. The design students will leave the programme with commercially viable brands — manufacturing and showcasing their first collections at London Fashion Week, and selling the pieces via Lone Design Club.

In order to create a more sustainable fashion industry and future, education is a key important step. The JCA sustainability course will pave the way for a new generation of designers and thinkers, with businesses founded on environmental and social sustainability principles. Industry mentorships and workshops on sustainable design will supplement coursework and fieldwork in a comprehensive programme at the forefront of change.
