PREMIERE: CAPYAC — “ON MY OWN”

The surrealist dance band premiere their new cinematic music video starring lead vocalist Ciceley Fullylove.

Founded in Austin, Texas as a duo, CAPYAC now works between Los Angeles and Berlin producing their sound that has garnered over 2.4 million listeners and 19 million streams on Spotify. Their blend of jazz, electronic, and funk is brought to life with various collaborators, from guest vocalists to saxophonists to dance troupes to fish mongers. Following their successful debut single “Speedracer” and fan-favourite track “GOODTIME”, CAPYAC continues to encourage their listeners to get up on their feet.

“On My Own” is lead vocalist Ciceley Fullylove’s debut track with the band and highlights her incredible vocal performance. The new music video for the single was directed by a young, Austin-based team of De Randle and Justin Heron. Starring Ciceley opposite antagonist Dom Ivory in a series of cinematic shots, it is a dramatic and atmospheric portrayal of the successful 2022 single. Accompanying the track as an avant-garde visual representation of its themes, sound, and lyrics, it is intimate and groovy — and above all absolutely empowering. High drama car shots and carefree dancing intersect to create a story that feels like a short film.

On the video, the director comments, “Directing this video with CiCi was something truly special. We felt that “On My Own” was a powerful statements about the strength of women’s voices and the freedom that comes with speaking that TRUTH. We wanted to take everyone back to a familiar setting and creating a simple visual narrative that inspires others to find their own voice and make choices that empowers them. Through this video, we can celebrate the courage and resilience of women who break free from toxicity and dance down their own path to soulful righteousness”.
