Island Wave is an exciting and innovative music initiative that is designed to elevate the music of the Caribbean to become rightfully at the pinnacle of world music. Active in the public eye in educating the wider public on the vibrant culture and musical landscape of the Caribbean, Island Wave also are responsible for some of the most energetic and entertaining live shows around. This year marked their sophomore year hosting the official Caribbean stage at the famed SXSW, a festival dedicated to shining a light on the best new talents and most essential movements. This year saw the incredible Grammy nominated Blvk H3ro headline the stage, with a sell out crowd being drawn into the colourful vitality of the show.

The Iza Island Wave SXSW 2023 Line Up took to the stage for a final moment of celebration ahead of the official after party hosted by Reggae Music Again Collective, which was founded by DJ Jah Flex includes selectors DJ Shaggy Fowl, Ras Jamin, DJ Nappy, DJ Mista B, Mr Blackrock and Ras G.
The Flamingo Cantina was a full house all evening with Grammy nominated artist Blvk H3ro closing the official SXSW Caribbean Showcase as he leapt into the crowd.
Supported for a third year by Trinidad & Tobagos’ Music Government division Music TT , Island Wave successfully carried 11 TT Nationals to SXSW this year.
