STRANGE WAY OF LIFE

We’ve been given a first look at the acclaimed Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar’s forthcoming short.

Get ready to saddle up and ride out into the Wild West with acclaimed Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar’s latest film, Strange Way of Life. The film, which stars Hollywood heavyweights Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal, has just been selected for the prestigious Cannes Film Festival and Pathé has released a series of first-look images and an exciting poster to wet your appetite.

Following on from his successful English-language debut with The Human Voice, which starred Tilda Swinton and premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2020, Almodóvar’s Strange Way of Life promises to be another cinematic tour de force. Produced by El Deseo and presented by Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello, this short Western is set to be one of the most talked-about films of the year.

The film tells the story of a man who rides a horse across the unforgiving desert to visit Sheriff Jake in the town of Bitter Creek. The two men have a shared history as hired gunslingers from their youth, and Silva, the rancher who comes to see the sheriff, is looking to rekindle their friendship. However, things take a dark turn when Sheriff Jake reveals that Silva’s visit is not just a trip down memory lane.

But don’t worry, we won’t give away any more of the film’s surprises. Suffice it to say that Strange Way of Life promises to be a thrilling ride from start to finish, full of twists and turns that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
