PREMIERE: BALMING TIGER — “SOS”

The K-pop collective releases a new single from their upcoming debut album, featuring all eleven members of the group.

Just today, Seoul-based Balming Tiger released a new single titled “SOS”, with a striking video to accompany it. Featuring all eleven members of the collective for the first time, the track is the third release ahead of the album’s summer premiere. Following the success of recent single “SEXY NUKIM”, which featured RM of BTS, “SOS” has been highly anticipated and did not disappoint.

Balming Tiger is a diverse, alternative K-pop band with a strong mission: to represent the current youth culture and spread Asian culture throughout the world. The collective is comprised of performers Omega Sapien, sogumm, bj wnjn, and Mudd the student; producers San Yawn and Unsinkable; video directors Jan’ Qui and Leesuho; DJ Abyss; visual artist Chanhee Hong; and writer Henson Hwang. Together, they create a world uniquely their own yet representative of greater societal movements.

“SOS” tells a gripping story of courtship and the conflicting emotions that come from being in love. Sonically, the song pairs strong yet surprising bass notes and drum patterns to make these themes come to life. The alternative instrumentals combine with a catchy chorus that make the tune irresistible.

The visual depiction of “SOS”, shot by Jan’ Qui, is also out now. A cinematic masterpiece that feels equally like a short film as it does a music video, the video was filmed in Hong Kong during the Clockenflap Festival. Moody hues and unexpected angles, fast-paced panning with freeze frames, and bright lights and high emotions bring the song to life.

Stay tuned for more information about Balming Tiger’s upcoming debut album!
