Spending the last decade as the frontman for Rock band Barefoot Truth, artist Will Evans has been expertly cultivating his craft. Having unleashed four albums with the group, and amassing a colossal 50 million streams since their debut – Evans made the hard-hitting decision to fly solo.
Evans proved that he’s able to stand on his own two feet. Instead of the solo journey slowing him down, he’s only accelerated further into greatness. Dishing out three albums, and blazing through the US and Europe on a sold-out tour – Evans is on the up and up. Evans’ multi-instrumentalist chops lend him to a versatile sound, incorporating live-looping in shows, hand pan drums, and soothing vocals — to name a few.
The trailblazing artist’s latest offering is plucked straight from his latest album Spirit. Accompanying the track “All My Relations” with a sweeping music video – the song’s soulful words are even more searing. Drawing inspiration from a life-changing event, which shocked Evans to his core – he was able to channel the fear into his craft. After almost drowning amidst the icy New England waters while surfing, the track posits what it might be like to cross over – onto the other side. Tackling themes of mortality and existentialism, over tentative guitar strings, crescendoing production, and powerful vocals – “All My Relations” is a transcendent experience.
The accompanying visuals paint a picture of Evans’ emotional landscape. Sweeping shots of nature, the crashing of the waves, and the artist’s direct address to the audience envelop the viewer into Evans’ headspace. We’re always here for artists who lay it all out on the table – no holds barred; Evans is refreshing amidst an all too impersonal industry. With some serious accolades notched onto his belt, like Album of the Year, Roots Act of the Year, and Video of the Year – this new release is fanning the flames.
