“You start to ask yourself: ‘Why are they known as the greats?’ And then you realise it’s because they’re using their entire self. I got into this dead young, yeah? I’m not trained per se, there’s a lot of learning on the job and looking up to great actors to fill in the gaps with my lack of education. There’s a powerlessness that comes with that too, because I didn’t take the conventional route. I think if you do go down that pathway, you end up with a lot on your side.”
