MAE MULLER × TIA MARIA

The British singer-songwriter joins forces with the iconic liqueur brand to tell her story.

Mae Muller has been around for a while, but she was put on the map by her explosive single, “Better Days.” Since then, the young artist has begun to carve out a corner for herself within the British music scene. Her honey-like voice accompanies earworm pop melodies, and as a result – we have trouble with her tunes leaving our heads. She is undeniably on track to becoming one of the UK’s shining superstars, and with that in mind, it is fitting that she has linked up with Tia Maria – to help encourage others to be their authentic selves.

The campaign, Two-of-a-Kind, seeks to celebrate the duality that exists within us all. Championing two of their liqueurs – cold brew and matcha – Muller and Tia Maria explore what it truly means to be multifaceted. According to the brand’s director, finding the balance between taking a “moment to relax” or “celebrating in style” is the perfect way to enjoy a refreshing Tia Maria. For Muller, finding balance in the face of duality looks like opting to have a night in with her besties, while also going out on the town if she feels like it.

Fortunately, we had the pleasure of sitting down with the singer-songwriter extraordinaire in an incredibly illuminating interview.

How does the Mae Muller at home differ from the one we see in the public eye?

I like to think that they’re pretty similar. Obviously some of the time I get dressed up to go out and post pretty pictures on my socials but I also make sure to post when I’m not doing something super glamorous and ‘looking my best’, like when I’m sat at home doing nothing, I make sure to post those moments. I think that’s why partnering with Tia Maria for the Two of Kind campaign really resonated with me because it reminds people to be confident in expressing different parts of their personality and embracing the different sides of yourself – it’s okay to be both glamorous and relaxed.

How do you look after yourself away from the stage and spotlight?

I try to spend a lot of time with my friends and family, it sounds a bit cliche but I would honestly not know what to do without them. Most of my friends I have had for over 10 years, even before I even started to make music, so I value them a lot. It reminds me that my world is bigger than my work. Of course I’m so grateful I get to do what I do but it can be overwhelming sometimes, so having those friends who have been there for that long is so important to me.

Talk us through your ideal scenarios to enjoy a Tia Espresso Martini or Matcha Tini?

I love to drink the Matcha-Tini when I’m at home relaxing with my family and friends, maybe after dinner or something, it’s the perfect after dinner treat. If I’m out and want to feel lively and refreshed I drink a Tia Espresso Martini.

Finally, after “I Just Came To Dance”, what’s next in the Mae Muller journey?

I’m finishing up my album! Really getting into the visuals now which is so exciting. I’ll be touring next year, which is also my favourite thing to do in the world. Right now, I’m excited about my partnership with Tia Maria and the work we’re doing together.
