A famous anglophile, Monsieur Christian Dior first established a bond with the famous department store in 1953, almost 70 years on, the relationship remains just as strong. The latest in an illustrious line of collaborations, The Fabulous World of Dior at Harrods, sees the store play host to a plethora of immersive pop-ups and an illuminating light display.

Spanning from November 10th to January 3rd 2023, the iconic red-brick exterior will be covered with a mesmerising installation – a light sequence plucked from the mind of visionary artist Pietro Ruffo. Paying homage to Dior’s 2023 Cruise show, the installation offers a reinterpretation of sketches spun from a dialogue between Maria Grazia Chiuri and Ruffo. Dotted with motifs from the collection, the illuminated walkway will play host to compass roses, lucky stars and flowers winding along Brompton Road, leading to a whimsical gingerbread tableau that’ll spark imagination in all ages.

Once inside, a treasure trove of surprises awaits. Boasting not one but two beauty pop-ups, Harrods plays host to Dior’s signature joie de vivre while showcasing the couture fragrances of La Collection Privée Christian Dior and inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the Maison’s makeup repertoire. Dedicated to La Collection Privée, the workshop reflects on Dior’s history through scent, celebrating floral aromas and refined ingredients by way of a whimsical tableau scattered with Pietro Ruffo’s festive fairytale sketches. The second boutique is no less enticing, with mini trunks opening to reveal the Millefiori edition of Miss Dior Eau de Parfum, the J’adore bottle reimagined under the visionary eye of artist, India Mahdavi. Joined by a whole host of beauty sets and advent calendars, the Maison’s signature scent perfumes the air with delicate aromas that’ll linger long into the festive period.
