Reverend Vito Aiuto and his wife Monique Aiuto present “Esther”, the Welcome Wagon’s fourth full-length album as they return to Asthmatic Kitty Records. “Esther” is no formulaic extention of The Welcome Wagon’s 20-year-long catalogue: it’s a grounded and intimate exploration of the complexity of home and belonging. The sounds that characterise the album. Are rich and warm. Soft-spoken vocal harmonies, gentle guitar strumming,ornate folk ballads and layered choruses, make “esther” an eccentric, christian art-folk gem with a sweet message: you can find peace – and artistic inspiration – at home, whatever home might signify to you.

Monique has made a painting to correspond to each of Vito’s songs on the album, three of which are featured in the album’s artwork, with a limited edition print of the piece “Isaiah, California” available as part of a special LP bundle.
