P!NK will always be dancing according to the singer’s latest cut, and knowing her, somersaulting mid-air across stadiums too, and judging by the track’s latest video, rollerblading n’alll. Is there anything she can’t do? We doubt it, and as she proves on the Max Martin co-produced “Never Gonna Not Dance Again”, retaining her crown as one of the 21st century’s biggest pop stars still comes naturally.
Infused with disco verve and fizzing with unadulterated optimism, “I want my life to be a Whitney Houston song” the “What About Us” hitmaker sings. And, blissful carnage unravels in the track’s video, which sees P!NK roller-partying around a supermarket, where multi-coloured confetti falls onto the groceries before P!NK throws a bundle of pride flags into her trolley and subsequently shakes the subdued-looking sales assistant seemingly into the same zestful persona she portrays. A dance break in the car park ensues, before a return to the now dimly lit supermarket-meets nightclub complete with glitterballs and uninhibited movers.
With resplendent horns in the chorus, Pink’s inimitable vocals, and bundles of effervescent energy, “Never Gonna Not Dance Again” will be blaring through our earphones whenever we do our food shops in future, and hopefully, our dreary local supermarket will emulate P!NK’s too.
