Brixton’s Loie is looking to the greats when it comes to her inspiration. Citing artists like Nina Simone, Jill Scott and Eva Cassidy as fuel to her impeccable tune crafting, it is no wonder that track “Perfect” is offering a fresh take on the love and lust-laden RnB groves that we all know and adore. To add even more to her compelling concoction of musical references, Loie lets her mixed Chinese-Trinidadian heritage take precedence in the track’s production. “Perfect” is imbued with the soundscapes of Tobago’s wildlife. On this the artist notes, “I wanted to capture the magical wonder of the island to paint this love story. To me, it feels like a warm caress or a gentle kiss and shows me at my most playful and carefree state.”

With a tranquilising reverb and goosebump-inducing harmonies underpinned by a seriously toe-tapping bassline, it is safe to say that this tune is nothing short of sonic bliss.
