Noah Klein last hit our playlists almost a year ago, in December 2021. The experimental multi-instrumentalist and singer’s last new music came in the form of his “after3nogoodcomes2me” EP, the genesis of the sound development journey he’s been on since. Now, culminating in the project’s successor, “whatdidyoudo2me”, Klein delivers four tracks written in the third person, with Klein posing as an intentionally undependable storyteller. The first release from the project, “dontyoufeel5s”, sees the distorted mumblings of Klein poke through downtempo, woozy electronic production, making for a heady delve into the mind of the creator.
Accompanied by transfixing visuals that see Klein isolated in a dark field, the first taste of the “whatdidyoudo2me” era makes clear that the multi-hyphenate is assuredly entering new frontiers of expression. This autumn, fans will be treated to the Noah Klein experience in person, when he joins previous collaborator Bearcubs on tour in North America.
