“We’re all just living on a ‘merry-go-round'”, Ridi says of her new track. “Heartbreak, loneliness, love, joy and many more feelings, are all emotions we experience from a young age and are ironically, the same emotions we experience when we’re older as well.” An empowering embrace of life’s revolving door of challenges told through buoyant pop production, “Merry Go Round” is a message of resilience, one you might expect from the singer, who’s also an anti-bullying activist. The founder of the foundation Stop The B, she’s helped inspire young people to speak out against bullying, with over 27,000 social media followers and support from celebrities including Ronaldinho.

“Merry Go Round”, Ridi’s second single of the year, following “Lonely” in June, features a music video which pays homage to Ridi’s cultural heritage, directed by Mikhail Mehra, the man behind Major Lazor and DJ Snake’s “Lean On” visuals. The involvement of illustrious industry personnel wasn’t confined to aesthetics, however, with Mousse T, most famous for producing Tom Jones’ “Sexbomb” and his own 90s dance smash ‘Horny’ and Diamond Duggal” at the helm behind the studio desk.

Whilst Ridi has all the makings for a sharp ascent in the music industry, she’s adding another string to her bow this month, by moving to London to study engineering. Anti-bullying activist, artist, and soon-to-be engineer, we can’t wait to see what’s next on the list. Hopefully more danceable anthems!
