The writer behind Drake and Rihanna’s “Too Good” affirms his own artistic prowess on lovelorn new single.

Toronto-based POLUN’s “Over” details the rush of emotions that consume you when you realise that the person you’ve invested yourself in, doesn’t love you anymore. “It’s a song about the all-consuming emotions that take over with the realisation that against better judgement, you’ve given everything to someone whose heart isn’t in it anymore,” he iterates.

The mid-tempo, brooding hip-hop-imbued cut with newcomer singer-songwriter Anthony Arthur furthers POLUN’s establishment as an artist to watch in his own right, after cutting his teeth in the industry under the name TEE Lam as the songwriting savant behind mega-hits like “Too Good” by Drake and Rihanna, and Alessia Cara’s “Here”. The release follows the artist’s 2021 solo tracks “Today” and “Higher Ground”, the latter attracting in excess of 250,000 streams. “Over” looks set only to trump it, and we can’t wait to see what’s next in store.
