Samory I’s joyous single “Life Is Amazing” simply celebrates the rising reggae artist’s satisfaction with life. “It came from a moment I had during a smoke session,” he explains. “It was a moment where I felt pure euphoria and felt content with my life. I realised that small pockets of joy could be found in your day-to-day life, even when things are not perfect.”
A key ingredient for the euphoria of daily life is, of course, having good people around you, and collaborating on the languid, woozy cut served as a bonding experience for Samory and fellow-Jamaican artist Chi Ching Ching. “Working on this record with Ching was exciting and through it, we formed a friendship,” Samory says. “It’s always joyful while working with my brothers.”
Not just a purveyor of good vibes, the track is also something of a history-maker, as the first release on I&I Worldwide, a new imprint from Jamaican sensation Protoje’s In.Digg.Nation Collective label. It’s the next phase in their takeover of the global music industry, after teaming up with RCA Records via Six Course Music in 2020 for a multi-artist deal that has seen releases from Jamaican acts like Protoje and Lila Iké. I&I Worldwide will now become the home of burgeoning acts like Samory, really beginning to blossom, facilitating the opportunity for them to showcase their music on their own terms.
