PREMIERE: PONTE PILAS – “RUE BRITANNIA”

The Indie Pop-Rock outfit unveil their explosive new album Old Enough To Know Better alongside their lead single.

Providing punchy additions to our playlists with an extra hit of political commentary, Ponte Pilas’ debut album is nothing short of a visionary. Grounded in a narrative that brings into question the climate mankind has built around itself, Old Enough To Know Better is as hard-hitting as it is inspiring — with leading single “Rue Britannia” driving home the Scottish-Ecuadorian four piece’s conscious mind with seamless execution.

As implied by its title, “Rue Britannia” spins the spirit of patriotism on its axis, instead exposing the catastrophic social affairs that Brexit left in its wake. Angsty yet soulful, “Rue Britannia” speaks volumes for the band’s entire effort — it’s witty yet introspective, charming yet menacing and utterly mesmerising.

Elaborating further on the track, the Indie Pop-Rock outfit explain, “‘Rue Britannia’ is a eulogy for British democracy. An identity in crisis, the howling roar of the disaffected and left-behind masses, half-remembered dreams of Ozymandian empires: these themes are explored via a Radiohead-esque, James Bond soundtrack stripped of pomp, ceremony and with a generous dose of nationalist navel-gazing.”

Including their recently released singles “Vegetable Soup and “San Ignacio”, the full album is available to stream below now…
