Thanks to The Weeknd’s Dawn FM and its inter-track commentaries and more than fitting title, it is safe to say that a revival of the radio is underway. And Taiwanese R&B talent, 9m88, is here to ensure that this continues. Welcoming us into her sophomore era with the release of her new album, 9m88 Radio, the artist’s latest collaborative effort is a showcase of her wispy vocal tone and affinity for funk-laden beats, both of which are paired with the work of a vibrant array of artists, including Rainbow Chan, Mitsu The Beats and Arthur Moon, to culminate in a sonically elegant album.

“I invited artists from different parts of the world to collaborate on 9m88 Radio. This album is my way to reconnect with this world during the pandemic,” explains the artist. “Like switching channels between different radio stations, I want to include each artists’ distinctive sounds intertwined with my compositions. Almost every song was produced and formed through online discussions. The songs talk about heartbreaks, womanhood, and scattered upbeat/bitter moments in lives.”

And, to commemorate her most recent release, the talent on the rise is looking to grace Europe with her captivating presence in the form of a tour. Spanning the month of September, fans old and new are being invited to witness 9m88 in action, and hopefully, she’ll be inviting us to tune into the live rendition of 9m88 Radio too.
