PREMIERE: THE COLOR STUDY – “FUTURE PAST PRESENT TENSE”

The band explore the multiple courses of life in their infectiously upbeat single, hacked from their album of the same name.

Though a Monday doesn’t usually provide space to zen out, The Color Study ensure good vibes and chilled soundscapes are in abundance with their cheerful new single, “Future Past Present Tense”. Backed by gritty guitar strings and a chest-thumping drum, the track merges every aspect of our personalities: the pessimistic, the positive, the happy and the sombre into a narrative about the messy indefinite nature of time.

Offering a refreshingly positive outlook on the unfortunate loss of relationships, “Future Past Present Tense” sheds a less detrimental light on heartache — instead arguing that it is these experiences that, when merged together with our present and future ones, culminate into the best version of ourselves. It is these philosophical sentiments that pulse through the band’s sophomore album of the same name — providing comfort to their listeners just as much as they provide soul-touching tunes.
