Terrifying or empowering, depending on how you look at it, can be the feeling of knowing deep down what’s best for you, but having to fight off the urge to do something you shouldn’t regardless. And when it concerns letting somebody back into your life, it can be an even more precarious game. “I know better, but I don’t understand / I would do it again, and again and again,” belts Gali Givon on “Better.”

Signed to recently established Universal Israel, grunge-inspired Givon’s new cut is rooted in her desire for self-improvement, told through her spirited, captivating delivery, that could soon see her easily sat alongside Olivia Rodrigo or Avril Lavigne, but injected with her ingrained love of vintage rock bands like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.

“‘Better’ was written about a time when I had no compass guiding me. It took a few moments, and a few scars, but I snapped myself out of that place. Now I know what’s best for me, I know what I need, better than anyone,” Givon says of the release.

While this may only be her third single drop, the Tel Aviv singer’s already crafted a distinct lane in the pop landscape, with industrial rock sensibilities, Middle Eastern melodies, irresistible hooks and an irrepressible command. We already can’t wait for the next one.
