There are two fundamental ways to our hearts: chocolate and fashion. Yet despite our creative careers and out-of-the-box thinking, we had never considered that there may be a way for these two long-held passions to collide — until now. Partnering with Magnum ice cream, luxury Dutch fashion designer Iris Van Herpen looked to the indulgence and richness of our favourite sweet treats to design an Haute Couture vegan dress — entirely inspired by ice cream.

Unveiled at Elysée Montmartre during Paris Fashion Week, Cindy Bruna stormed the runway to debut the exclusive creation — the first of its kind to be constructed entirely from cocoa bean husks. Processed to make a fully organic biopolymer material, the dress is brought to life with a three-dimensional design, adorned with copper-coated embellishments and 3D-printed accents.

Speaking on her latest design, Iris explains, “I am honoured to have been approached by Magnum as a partner to bring to life the Magnum Vegan Dress. As a designer, I have always worked to push the boundaries of design and this collaboration has really allowed us to take this one step further by linking the ingredients of an iconic Magnum Vegan to create an Haute Couture design. The opportunity to work with the brand on such innovation in sustainable fashion has been a very special experience.”
