First JLS, then One Direction, Brockhampton, Little Mix and now, BTS. Yes, though it pains us to announce it, the globally acclaimed K-pop band are taking a break from each other in order to focus on solo projects. And, though the band’s management has assured us that this isn’t the last we will hear of BTS and their sparkling pop soundscape, we cannot help but revel in a minute of mourning for the band that has frequented our playlists since their rocketing rise to fame in 2017.

So, what is the behind-the-scenes story behind the breakup? Though the details of the sudden hiatus are being kept within the group, their annual dinner party YouTube video was enough to show that the decision was not made lightly. With almost every member in a spell of tears by the videos close, they impart the need to live and develop separately.

While it might seem that BTS are doused in all the benefits that come with fame and glory, it is no surprise many of the members opened up about their exhaustion. From global tours to relentless training to deliver the very best to their “Army” of devotees, BTS have gone far beyond expectations. Though it pains us to admit it, their hiatus is more than well-deserved. And, while there may well be a hole left in our hearts and our playlists for a little while, we have a feeling this won’t be the last of the BTS action…
