Whenever an artist drops a new EP, we expect a short project packed full of repeat-worthy tracks, and that is about it. But, duo West Wickhams is here with an EP that offers a lot more. The artists, hailing from Scilly, have invited us into their dark and twisted realm which holds not just a set of new tunes, but a narrative that follows an intoxicated young woman, battling some unsettling truths. Carried forward by the duo’s haunting vocal tone, the EP is one that hopes to captivate listeners’ attention with its sweet surface sound, only to serve the chills once fully entranced.

“Jane, a woman from the present day, has taken a drug, thought to induce out-of-body experiences. She wakes up not as herself, but in a body unknown to her,” explains the pair when talking their EP’s story. “Initially, she has amnesia. She has mentally time travelled into the future. Society is in this time is made up only of women. Jane’s initial contacts have not even heard of men; they believe her to be mad.”

With a set of Hitchcock-esque videos accompanying the tracks, their creepy undertone is set. So, if you are looking to get your thrills from your musical intake this week, “Consider Her Way” is the only EP you should be streaming.
