Delivering just that in the form of a rich and stirring soundscape, Lorelei Marcell teams up with the Canadian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist The Grand Mess in her new track, “Masterpiece”. Much like its namesake, the track is an effortless display of Lorelei’s soul-baring lyrical prowess, ear for moving instrumentals and ability to tackle difficult narratives.

Talking on the track, Lorelei explains, “I wanted to add in a recording of my mom and I talking at the end, not just because I think it fits well, but because it speaks to who we are judging so harshly. A younger, innocent, and beautifully vulnerable version of ourselves.” 

While “Masterpiece” blends R&B with a mainstream indie pop sound, the track acts as the ultimate exemplar of Lorelei’s carefully curated sound — something which is becoming more identifiable with every release.
