We are very much aware that are writing words for a generation of readers who were raised on the all-singing and all-dancing scenes born out of the iconic movie franchise, High School Musical. So, we thought it would be nothing short of a disservice if we didn’t take a moment to discuss the TL-shattering confession made by the franchise’s leading man and everyone’s childhood crush, Zac Efron, this week.

Unveiling his openness towards the idea of reprising his role of the basketball-obsessed and angel-voiced Troy Bolton alongside former castmates Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale and Corbin Bleu, Efron explained, “Seriously, having the opportunity, in any form, to go back and work with that team would be so amazing. My heart’s still there.” Before we all lose our heads over this heart-warming comment from the star, we must remember that this is a sentiment that comes without any fuel from the likes of Disney or any other production companies, meaning it is nothing more than a fleeting wish at present. But, that is not to say that even the mere thought of seeing the cast of HSM reuniting on the big screen for choreographed dance numbers and the performance of tear-jerking anthems isn’t something to rave about.

Could this be the start of something new? We really do hope so!
