PREMIERE: RICHARD OROFINO – “BENDING”

The Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter and producer unveils his latest single along with a trippy music video.

Disturbing and delightful are two words that do not often go together — or at least they didn’t until Richard Orofino unveiled his latest effort, “Bending”. Opening with a hard-hitting beat, the track is underpinned with a bouncy reverb that carries tones of darkness that tease at your eardrums. True to its undecipherable sound, the accompanying visual is equally as trippy, showing the artist floating in the air with his head inverted from his body — emphasising the artist’s need to straighten himself out both physically and mentally.

In his own words, Richard Orofino explains, “A good place to begin describing ‘Bending’ could be calling it a pop song in disguise. While delving deep into that world, I also utilised synthesizers reminiscent of the late 1980s. A swampy head bobber, ‘Bending’ is as risky as it is catchy.”

Kitted with 90s nostalgia, 80s synthesizers and modern-day production, Richard continues to build a reputation as a timeless artist whose artistry is limited to no single genre. To stream his latest effort now, head below…
