Every musician’s journey starts somewhere, but it isn’t usually at the West End. However, that is exactly where it began for London’s latest musical maverick, Vicky Pasion. Commencing her career on the main stage as Young Nala in The Lion King, the talent catapulted herself towards a life filled with melodies, music and all-around theatrics. Following on from her successful acting stints, Vicky then looked to build herself a music-centric solo career that has most recently led her to the pending release of the MOBO-approved EP, “SOUL STAR”.

“’SOUL STAR’ is my lockdown baby – a pop/soul sophomore project that’s proudly supported by the MOBOs. After waves of heartbreak, mental health, and unravelling childhood experiences in my debut EP, I’ve spent the past two years influenced by the chilled R&B vibes in LA, daring to come into my own and blossoming with the ups and downs of love,” explains Vicky. “For this project, I’ve worked with great producers, like Adrian McLeod, Likkle Jay, Steven Bamidele, and Alan Lowe, in iconic studios like Tileyard and Abbey Road! I’m so grateful for the journey and excited to create an intimate experience for all in my live shows!”

Of course, each project has a track that beautifully sums up its essence and spearheads its entrance into the new releases pool. For “SOUL STAR”, that track is “Switch It Up”. With the sun-soaked strum of the acoustic guitar meeting Vicky’s bold, drama-tinged tone on the empowering tune, which comes accompanied by a music video that serves up some serious main character energy, you will be rendered spellbound and sure to be running up the entire EP soon after your first listen.
