Following on from their farewell performance at Coachella, the band teases the release of a final album on Instagram.

The end of Brockhampton feels as if it has been a lifetime in the making – and to be honest, we aren’t mad at it. After two emotional shows at London’s O2 Academy Brixton and an explosive farewell set at this year’s Coachella, we thought that the dreaded moment in which our favourite boy band since One Direction disbanded for good was finally upon us. But, to our delight, the band took the time to let their devoted fans who took to the desert for their final show know that this was not the official end. Addressing a charged crowd, Brockhampton revealed that their final album will be dropping later this year.

And, if this most recent broadcast hasn’t been enough to lull you into a state of relief, the hip hop collective is here to reassure you as they take to Instagram to confirm the news with a melancholic trailer. With a sombre looking band vacantly gazing towards Brockhampton frontman Kevin Abstract, he proceeds to divulge a monologue in which he reveals a ‘group album’ about the band itself and something he assures them is not a ‘solo thing’. Proceeding to turn to a laptop and press play before a black veil swipes across the screen, carrying with it the words ‘THE FINAL ALBUM, 2022’, it becomes clear that the band is sitting on some unreleased material worthy of a listen.

While as unfathomable and sketch-like as many of the visuals that we have been privy to from the band before and no official release date in sight, one thing is clear and that is that the band is not over, just yet!
