Mini skirts the size of belts, slicked back middle-parted buns and Juicy Couture velour: it’s fair to say we’re living in the midst of a Y2K resurgence and we’re not mad about it, and joining the wave with her futuristic yet nostalgic video is London-born talent Remi Lewis with “Bag$”. Inviting us to join her girl gang through the streets of Brooklyn, the artist take us through a bold video filled with glam, debauchery and empowerment. Lacing each scene with a trap-tinged production, Lewis rides the ear-worming melody with ease, snapping up each chorus with finesse and prowess.

“I actually wrote ‘Bag$’ a while ago,” the artist candidly revealed. “As I gained more confidence in myself as an artist, I felt like “ok now let’s drop this”! It has more of an aspirational vibe to it than my past two singles, ‘Spacey’ & ‘No Escape’, but I still wanted the lyrics to be fun and empowering – like don’t take BS from anyone, I’m going to get to the bag regardless!

Raised in New York’s melting pot borough of Brooklyn, the artist has already gained attention for her own blend of trap and futuristic pop. Set to join the likes of Tay Money, DreamDoll and Chinese Kitty next week at the Knitting Factory, we say book your tickets as Lewis is due to put on a show that we won’t forget.
