Bridgerton season two

When it comes to series releases this year, none have been as highly anticipated as Bridgerton season two, and the latest trailer is proof as to why. With Netflix gracing us with our first fully-formed look at the global sensation’s second series, fans of the beloved period drama are instantly transported back into 1800s London as they are greeted by the familiar scenes of Anthony Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington as they brace themselves for another social season. Of course, we are all still reeling from the devastating absence of everyone’s favourite socialite, RegĂ©-Jean Page, this season, but with the introduction of the beautiful Sharma family pending and the promise of plenty more romance-fuelled drama hanging in the balance, it is safe to say that the show’s second season is looking as captivating as the first. Lady Whistledown, we are ready for you.

The Bubble

Now, Maude Apatow is a name currently on everyone’s lips following her stellar performance in Euphoria season two, but let’s not forget that her raw and humour-tinged acting abilities are inherent in her DNA. With Maude’s mother Leslie Mann and younger sister Iris teaming up to star in an irreverent pandemic-focused comedy The Bubble, which is directed by her father Judd Apatow, it becomes clear that the apple really doesn’t fall far from the tree. Masterfully tapping into the mind-numbing nature of the first-ever lockdown, the comedy follows a group of actors on a mission to complete a movie from within the confines of a hotel quarantine bubble. With Benedict Cumberbatch, Karen Gillan and Kate McKinnon joining the family for this Netflix film, it is sure to have you in fits of giggles upon its release on April 1st.

Anatomy of a Scandal

Sex, scandal and politics: Anatomy of a Scandal is the series set to lift the veil on the privileged British elite. Starring icons such as Sienna Miller, Michelle Dockery, Rupert Friend and Naomi Scott, the Netflix production takes us through a sex scandal of a British politician that hopes to raise questions on the dark powers of privilege and justice surrounding consent. With the creators of Big Little Lies drawing inspiration from Sarah Vaughan bestselling novel of the same name for this show, the six-part drop is sure to have you on the edge of your seat upon its release on April 15th.

The Time Traveler’s Wife

There is nothing better than a TV adaptation of an iconic film, right? Well HBO is here to provide as the streaming service has just dropped the trailer for the series adaptation of The Time Traveler’s Wife. With Theo James and Rose Leslie stepping into the shoes of Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana for the remake, we are in for another rollercoaster of emotions as that now-signature blend of love, sacrifice and of course, time travel fills our screens once more. BRB, we are just preparing to be plunged into our feels upon the show’s release in May.

The Flight Attendant

The Flight Attendant is back for another round, and we couldn’t be happier about it. With Kaley Cuoco’s character seemingly settling into a calmer, more sober phase of life, watchers are lulled into a false sense of security upon the trailer’s commencement. But, as her role as a secret CIA asset leads her to witness a murder and fall into a tangled web of drama, it becomes clear that the beloved flight attended is in for just as much of a turbulent – excuse the pun – ride this time around. Premiering on April 21st, we cannot wait to dig into this one.

Where The Crawdads Sing

Rounding off this week’s Screen Wonders is the trailer for one of the most anticipated movie releases of 2022. Based on the critically acclaimed novel of the same name, Where the Crawdads Sing sees the incomparable Daisy Edgar-Jones step into the shoes of an isolated woman who raised herself in the marshes of the deep South faced who is faced with accusations of murder. With a deeply emotional core, nurtured by producer Reese Witherspoon, this is a movie that is sure to stay with you months after your first watch this July. Oh, and if the above was not enough to excite you, the trailer also brings with it the promise of a new Taylor Swift release, as it debuts a snippet of her new track “Carolina”.
