Showcasing a fresh and elating soundscape, “Don’t Fade” is the perfect first sip of his forthcoming third studio album. On the single itself, Vance explains, “I wrote ‘Don’t Fade’ with my friend and frequent songwriting partner Dave Bassett toward the end of 2019. It came as a surprise and felt like a special discovery. I like writing about that feeling of timelessness you get when you’re with someone you love. When we came to produce the song, I had the great fortune to work with Take a Daytrip, Edwin White and David Longstreth (of Dirty Projectors). Writing this song was the starting point for my new album. I knew I was on a path somewhere once this song came along.”

Just a couple of days ago I heard this song. It feels old and new at the same time. Love the line ‘catch my drift’. But there are so many great lines in this song (not to mention all the other beautiful elements).

I just heard this song and I love the bass line. I love the cover artwork for these b-sides of “Slow Rush” too. The room filling with sand looks a little weathered this time round.
