COLLABORATIONS OF 2022

From Doja Cat and Tom Hanks to a One Direction reunion of sorts, here are all of the people we want to see in the studio this year.

We have all seen the news. Meg Thee Stallion wants Adele to jump into the studio with her, and truthfully, we are in full support of this idea. And, while awaiting a response from Adele regarding the recent request, we began to wonder, who else would we want to collaborate in 2022?

With this in mind, we got to work on a list of the names we want to see share the screen, stage and recording booth this year for tracks that, if ever made, would send the internet into a meltdown. So, head below to enjoy our round-up and here’s to manifesting…

Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo

When it comes to the defining voices of an entire generation, no two names have dominated streaming platforms and the headphones of listeners quite like Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish. Both equipped with a set of dreamy vocals and ‘gram-shattering aesthetics, it would only be fair for these two to collaborate, right?

Harry Styles and either Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan or Zayn Malik

What would a Monday evening be without a bit of drama, hey? With any hope of a full-blown One Direction reunion crushed after the band’s 10th anniversary, (was it just us who truly believed we were getting a new track from the boys?) It would be fair to say that we are deserving of any one of the above collaborations. Please get these guys back in the studio!

Tyler, The Creator and Kevin Abstract

The chaotic sounds of modern-day hip-hop have been provided to us by some of the greatest musical names this generation has to offer, but two stick out in particular: Tyler, The Creator and Brockhampton. And, with the adored collective going their separate ways this year, in a bid to pursue solo careers, we think it would only be fair that their frontman, Kevin Abstract, join fellow maverick, Tyler, for what would be a truly explosive cut.

Doja Cat and Tom Hanks

Hear us out with this one. After The Weeknd revealed that comedian Jim Carrey would be featuring on his hotly anticipated Dawn FM, scepticism was rife. But after the actor lent his emotive voice to a track both poetic and moving in nature, a precedent was set for a future in which actors and musicians teamed up for collaboration, sure to set the TL alight. And, a pair capable of doing just this is Doja Cat and the legendary Tom Hanks, obviously.

Zendaya and Rihanna

The only thing better than having one icon on a tune is having two. So, after a restful maternity leave, we would love to see Rihanna and Zendaya join forces for a track that would no doubt break the internet.

Dua Lipa and Central Cee

We have seen them at each other’s shows. We have seen them commenting on each other’s posts. So, all that is left is a collaboration, right? Sure to be a link-up between the best of British music, a tune from Dua Lipa and Central Cee would definitely have us smashing the repeat button.
