If you happened to watch the trailer for Ricky Gervais’ After Life season three, you would have tuned into the utterly harrowing yet addictively charming featuring single, Jerry Williams’ “Gameshow”.
Hacked from her EP of the same title, “Gameshow” was written by Jerry following the tragic loss of a close family friend who lost her battle with cancer. And, as though the soul-touching soundtrack wasn’t enough, Jerry Williams has announced the arrival of the official music video. Carrying with it the sentiments which Jerry Williams and After Life reflect through their respective projects, the visual reinforces the overarching mindset: that ‘Sometimes this life doesn’t turn out how it’s meant to be’.
Talking of the feature, Jerry explains, “I’ve always been a fan of Ricky Gervais and After Life on Netflix; I’ve laughed and cried like so many of us have whilst watching it. Hearing ‘Gameshow’ within the trailer for this special series was a surreal and bittersweet moment for me. So, when the opportunity came about shooting a music video alongside the beautiful visuals from After Life, all the daydreaming about a video for ‘Gameshow’ came into focus so perfectly. To see them side by side means so much to me.’’
The music video will be available to watch from 3pm today. So grab some tissues and when you’re ready, scroll below…
