We don’t know about you, but nothing gets us through the cold winter months quite like making plans for every weekend of summer. And If you happen to have some white space lurking around the new June bank holiday, we have some news that will definitely fulfil some of your sun-filled fantasies. With festival season officially kicking into high-speed, GALA festival has finally announced the next wave of artists who will be talking the stages of Peckham Rye Park by storm. Following GALA’s 2021 sell-out success, the fresh instalment will promise a collaborative fusion of the very best of dance music. So whether you’re a house raver, a disco dancer or an afrobeat addict, GALA is the ultimate destination to reward your mind body and soul.
With a carefully curated new structure to offer the best of its talents, the first day will pay homage to live music and bands. Headlining the Thursday lineup, Swedish contemporary soul band Little Dragon will share the stage with featuring artists such as jazz group Sons Of Kemet. On top of this, the revered Charlie Bones will be broadcasting his nightly adored Do!! You!! Radio Show live from the festival site. Resuming its most traditional format, Friday will see the GALA debut of the universally celebrated DJ Harvey. The selector will be joined by the likes of Dan Shake, Gilles Peterson and the inimitable Awesome tapes. For GALA festival veterans, you’ll be pleased to know that the Saturday round-up will welcome lone-term collaborators such as Rhythm Section, Rye Wax and Horse Meat Disco for one last arm-raising session.
To make GALA your first-party plan of the season, priority tickets will be available to purchase from the 28th of January at 10am. For general sales, 1st of February at 10am.
