With this in mind, we could not think of a better way to kick off the new year than by introducing you to the artists set to dominate the music industry in 2022. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy Wonderland’s Ones to Watch round-up.

With 50 Cent, Mac Miller and The Streets as influences, Finn Foxell has been steadily making a name for himself over the years, collaborating with the likes of Lord Apex and Lava La Rue. Known for his deep mediative vocals and candid flow, the artist touches on everything in his music – from his young childhood days to his last day on Earth. Promising a sense of escapism in his music with his signature smooth tone, the artist is currently gearing up for the release of his debut album and his EP “Alright Sunshine” comes as the perfect teaser.

Taking some time to sit down with us, Foxell discusses his inspirations in music, the best advice he has received and what 2022 entails.

I AM Finn Foxell

BORN AND RAISED IN Shepherd’s Bush

THE FIRST RECORD I FIRST FELL IN LOVE WAS 3000 by Bust’d

NOW IT REMINDS ME OF your great great great granddaughter

MY BIGGEST INFLUENCES ARE 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Mac Miller, Andre 3000, Maverick Sabre, Devlin, Amy Winehouse, Ben Howard, Kate Nash,

VISUALLY, I’M INSPIRED BY everything.

MY MOST PERSONAL LYRIC IS ’our own worst enemies in life, animism apparition, save me with your grace.’

IT’S ABOUT humans (me) being our own biggest obstacle, hater and doubter. A leap to the divinity of our surroundings for an explanation, often before we look inward for resolve. that’s one personal to me for sure.

RIGHT NOW I’M WRITING ABOUT being a homosapien and the questions and panic it compels

I HOPE MY MUSIC MAKES PEOPLE really feel something

MY SUPERPOWER IS anyone being mean to someone in a 10km radius of me soils themselves

ONE PIECE OF ADVICE THAT’S STUCK WITH ME IS enjoy the moment whilst you’re in it

THE BEST GIG I’VE EVER SEEN WAS The Gorillaz

THE BEST CROWD I’VE EVER PLAYED WAS my headline at Village Underground

THE BIGGEST MISCONCEPTION ABOUT ME IS that I just rap

MY BIGGEST LEARNING CURVE THIS YEAR WAS delegating work in my team without compromising my vision

THIS YEAR I’M YEAR PROUD OF my progression in songwriting

I’M EVOLVING INTO a fucking proper not one to overlook musician

I WON’T COMPROMISE ON my art

THE FUTURE OF THE MUSIC INDUSTRY IS genre fluid

AS AN INDUSTRY, WE NEED TO eat more fruit

BRING BACK cereal box toys

GEN Z IS nae too bad

AT MIDNIGHT ON NYE, I’M WISHING FOR my plan to go as planned

SONG I’VE HAD ON REPEAT IN 2021 mentira manu chao

SONG I’M BRINGING INTO 2022 “Only a Good Would Say That” by Steely Dan

BEING INCLUDED AS ONE OF WONDERLAND’S ONES TO WATCH MAKES ME FEEL Like a spring chicken

MY NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION IS Less cigarettes and sugars

NEXT YEAR I WILL hit the charts

NEXT YEAR YOU SHOULD BE LISTENING TO my best songs to date

NEXT YEAR I HOPE WE CAN ALL dance at carnival
