With the year coming to, let’s be honest, a slightly depressing end, we are looking to lift your spirits by casting your minds forward to 2022. Set to be filled with new beginnings, the promise of change and, most excitingly, plenty of new movie releases, it is something many of us are anticipating greatly. With that being said, sit back, relax, and enjoy our round-up of the movies we cannot wait to watch in the new year…

MOVIES TO WATCH IN 2022
From Robert Pattinson’s debut as The Batman to a revival of Legally Blonde and love stories featuring Harry Styles and Florence Pugh, here are all of the movies we cannot wait to drop next year.

John Wick 4

The Batman
There is no better way to kick off this round-up than with what can only be described as the most anticipated film of 2022: The Batman. With Robert Pattinson looking to leave his angsty teenage vampire persona behind and instead embody one of the most infamous superheroes of all time, it is safe to say that this film is a certain hit – especially judging from its explosive trailer featuring the incomparable Zoë Kravitz. Set to hit theatres in March 2022, it is one we are desperate to book our tickets for.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore
With the hype surrounding Harry Potter heightened due to the upcoming HBO reunion, we almost managed to forget that we will be taking multiple trips to the wonderful Wizarding World next year – with ‘almost’ being the keyword here. Set to grace screens on April 15th, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is set to see Jude Law play a young Dumbledore as he joins Newt Scamander on yet another quest filled with magic and intrigue.
Legally Blonde 3

Nothing quite beats the sequel to a childhood classic. So, when the news broke that Reese Witherspoon was to reprise her role as the beloved pink-clad lawyer, Elle Woods, excitement was rife. And, while little to no details have been given about Legally Blonde 3, with Mindy Kaling set to pen the script, it is sure to be as stellar as the first two instalments of the adored franchise.
Elvis

With The House of Gucci currently causing quite the stir, it was only fair that we included what we think will be the next hype-worthy biopic set to grace cinema screens in 2022, aka Elvis. With Baz Luhrmann at the movie’s helm, we are looking forward to watching Austin Butler embody the infamous King of Rock and Roll as we are promised to be taken on a tour through his whirlwind of a life story. Heading towards its release on June 24th, this is one that we don’t want to miss.
Don’t Worry Darling

I mean, this one is pretty self-explanatory! With the promise of Harry Styles and Florence Pugh make-out sessions, directed by the ex-One Direction sensation’s now-girlfriend, it is a movie sure to have theatres packed out.
Killers of the Flower Moon

What would any movie round-up be without a feature from Leonardo DiCaprio? Hoping to bring to life an infamous 1920s tale of mystery, director Martin Scorsese is promising us a plot that follows the F.B.I’s investigation regarding the murders of members of the Osage tribe in the US, involving J. Edgar Hoover upon this movie’s release.
Hocus Pocus 2

Reuniting after almost 30 years, Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy are the next set of stars looking to reprise some of their most famed roles in 2022. With Hocus Pocus 2 hoping to land next year, we are prepared to embrace this movie in all of its nostalgic glory.
Where the Crawdads Sing

Taken from our Winter 21 Issue.

Based on the New York Times Best Selling novel by Delia Owens, the upcoming adaptation of Where the Crawdads Sing is set to receive as much praise as the original upon its release next year. Detailing the life of the abandoned Kya, played by our Winter 21 cover star, Daisy Edgar-Jones, the movie will welcome viewers to the swamps of Carolina as well as unpack the harrowing details of a murder set to turn her life on its head once more.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

As for Marvel films, the one we are most looking forward to most is Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. With the film hoping to stand as a touching tribute to the life and legacy of the late Chadwick Boseman, the star’s former castmates are reuniting for the sequel of the iconic 2018 movie, Black Panther, and we cannot wait to see what they serve up.
John Wick: Chapter 4

We couldn’t think of a better way to finish off our round-up than with the news that the infamous hitman, Keanu Reeves’ John Wick, is returning to our screens once more in 2022, for the 4th instalment of the renowned franchise!
