We’ve been through a lot these past two years, so you can imagine our relief that we’ve finally reached the end of yet another stressful and tiring year. With this in mind, we’re focusing on ourselves and embracing all things calming and relaxing as we ease into the new year and Lycoriscoris is getting their vibe with his remix of KARMACODA’s single “Make Me The One”. Expertly blending soothing synths with oscillating ear-worming vocals, the producer once again proves his knack for bending and evolving the electronica sound, while leading us into a futuristic soundscape. Keeping true to his signature subtle and emotive sound, the producer takes the mournful vocals blends them into his technical yet tranquil production that sends ripples through the airwaves.
Speaking on the release, the artist said, “I’m very honoured to be able to remix this track. I don’t usually work on tracks with vocals, so it was a fresh experience for me. I tried to keep the instrumentation as simple as possible, so as not to destroy the worldview of the poem. Also, the original song has a unique chordal feel to it, so it was difficult to find an arpeggio pattern that didn’t feel like a specific chord.”
The renowned Japanese producer has already been making waves in the industry, gaining over six million plays on Spotify alone. With cult-like following behind him and a forward-thinking sound in the bag, we think 2022 is going to be an interesting year for the artist.
